Detection of Infected Internet-of-Thing (IoT) Devices to Prevent Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks

Automated detection and response to compromised IoT devices to prevent misuse in DDoS attacks by:
- Establishing traffic analysis and anomaly detection for consumer grade routers
- Refining analysis and detection methods through simulated compromised devices
- Enabling automatic response for consumer routers to block compromised devices at source
The project will develop an embedded software module for consumer Wi-Fi routers that applies online traffic flow analysis to filter traffic from Internet of Things (IoT) devices on the home network, detect anomalies and block malicious traffic to prevent misuse in DDoS attacks.
